Florence Ella (Harris) Evans, daughter of the late Tom and Lillian Vaughter Harris, was born on September 26, 1931, in Rutherford County, Tennessee. She was called to eternal life on December 21, 2024, at Community Care of Rutherford County in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Florence was the youngest of 10 children.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Edmond Allen Evans; beloved son, Anderson (Butch) Evans; daughter-in-law, Deborah Ann Osborne Evans; and siblings: Minnie Mai Cantrell, Ida White, Mary Fletcher, Rosie Lee Chesterfield, Tommy Harris, Eugene Harris, Clarance Harris, Buddy Harris and Herbert Harris.
Florence accepted Christ at any early age and was a member of Mt. Zion Rucker Missionary Church.
Florence had a zest for life with her laughter and smile a gift to all she met. She loved taking walks, eating out, shopping, M&M’s candy, her cat Snowball, her hats, soap operas, The Wheel of Fortune and Price is Right. Most of all, children loved her. There was not a child she met that she did not bring into her arms for a hug.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her daughter Ella (Michael) Buntin; Granddaughters, Yolanda Joy (Joel) Windrow, Dorothea (James) Sneed and Antonia Whitfield; Grandson, Anthony Evans; Great Granddaughters, Ayesha Voorhies, Aaliyah Voorhies, Jasmine Sneed, Kloe Sneed, Alexis (Rob) Morrison and Autumn Brock.; Great Grandsons, Datarious Voorhies, Montez Voorhies, Myles Sneed, Deleregus Sneed and Michael Brock, Jr.; Three Great Great Grandchildren, Antonio Voorhies, Peyton Brock and Sevyn Millsap; Her daughters of her heart, Betsy Maples and Summer Maples; Special devoted friends, Nancy Bradshaw and Marietta Bishop; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
We will miss you and love you forever.
