James Alford Burns, born February 16, 1955, to Julia Rucker, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2024, at the age of 69. James will be remembered as a quiet and dependable man who lived a life defined by hard work and humility. 

A proud veteran, he served honorably in the United States Air Force, exemplifying dedication and commitment to his country. He approached every challenge with a steady hand and an unwavering sense of responsibility, earning the respect and trust of everyone who knew him. His laid-back nature brought calm to those around him and his quiet strength was a source of inspiration and comfort to his family and friends. He dedicated many years to the National HealthCare Corporation until his retirement. James will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for the steadfast and gentle presence he brought to our lives. 

James is survived by his wife, Zenia Burns; daughter, Kanise (Geoffrey) Young; two sons, Apollo Burns and Othello (Carlie) Burns; mother, Julia Burns; three siblings, Barbara (Tollie) Cantrell, Deborah Smith and Johnny Rucker; six grandchildren, Frankie, Syrus, Myan, Sarai, Kaizen and Kailah; and a host of other relatives and friends.
