Margrett Hawkins, beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2024. Born on September 17, 1933, Margrett was a pillar of strength, love, and grace throughout her 90 years of life.
Margrett was the devoted mother of seven children: Loleathia Hawkins Morgan, Loretta Divens, Lorenzo Hawkins, Jr., Clifford Hawkins, Rashida Ama, Dwight Hawkins, and Jeffery Hawkins. Her life was further blessed with seventeen adoring grandchildren, each of whom she cherished deeply.(complete listing on back page)
Margrett’s life was marked by her unwavering commitment to her family.She had a generous spirit,a warm heart, and a kind soul that touched everyone she met. Her home was always open, filled with words of advice, laughter, and the comforting aroma of her delicious cooking. She taught her family the values of hard work, compassion, and the importance of togetherness.
She is preceded in death by her husband Lorenzo Hawkins, Sr., her eldest daughter Loleathia Hawkins Morgan, her grandson Cleopas Hawkins,and her great-grandson Ke’Shad Carr. Margrett is survived by her six children, seventeen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, five great- great grandchildren, and numerousother relatives and friends who will forever hold her memory close in their hearts.
Margrett Hawkinswill be remembered for her enduringlove, her unwavering faith, and her remarkable spirit. She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will continue to inspire and guide her family and friends for generations to come.
