George A. Collier was born in Rutherford County TN to his parents, Fred James Collier, Sr. and Ellen Alberta Brown Collier.  To this union, three children were born, Fred Jr., Annie Seline and George.

George was educated in the Rutherford County School System where he attended Silver Springs Elementary School and Holloway High School in Murfreesboro, TN.

He was baptized at an early age at Silver Springs Missionary Baptist Church where he served as an usher.  Later in his years, he united with Sand Hill Church of Christ.

George served in the Army for several years.  Upon his return, he married Betty J. Mayes and to this union, nine children were born.

George and his brother Joe had a Construction Company for many years and later he worked for Middle TN Electric Company where he retired.

George leaves to cherish his memories, loving wife, Betty Collier; children, George Jr. (Mary), Larry, Eli, Lacy, Tracy (Trinette), Stacey (Bruce) and Roberta; sisters, Annie Bass and Joyce Christman; 18 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; a great host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
