Deacon James Price Sanders, Sr. affectionately known as “Daddy” was born on June 18, 1925 to the late Robert L Sanders and Neola Norris Sanders in Walter Hill, TN. On February 18, 2016 he departed this life at his home in Smyrna, TN. He was the last living child of Robert and Neola Sanders. He was preceded in death by grandchild, Ricky Osborne, 5 brothers, and 2 sisters.
Deacon Sanders professed his faith in Christ under the leadership of Rev. Charles Evans at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. He loved to sing and was part of the Gospel Harmonizers quartet and Senior Choir. He also loved to sing hymns during the devotional part of worship service. He took and active role in church and was Chairman of Deacon Board. He was a faithful member at Bethel until his health began to fail.
On March 1, 1947 he married Margie (Malone) Sanders who preceded him in death. From this union five children were born.
He leaves to remember his life: four devoted daughters, Evelyn (Victory) Cantrell Jr., Mary (Anderson) King, Emma (James) Osborne, Margie Ann Goff, and devoted son, James Sanders, Jr.; 14 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 18 great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law Evelyn Walton; good friend James Collier and special niece and nephew Walter and Viola Owens; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
