Kenneth James Roberts, affectionately known as Kenny or Ken to his family, friends and those who loved him dearly, was born on December 22, 1949, in Hamilton County, Tennessee. He is preceded in death by his parents Mr. Preston & Mrs. Virginia Roberts and daughter Cicely Yvette Peterson.

While resting comfortably at home, Kenneth transitioned to be with the Lord on Wednesday September 8th, 2021. He gave his life to Christ and was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, TN 37130, Dr. Jerry D. Marable, Pastor.  He was educated in the Hamilton County City school system. At a young age Kenneth chose to enlist into the United States Army where he served his country in battle and combat during the Vietnam War. Kenneth was a proud honorably discharged and decorated United States Army Veteran as he was awarded with several medals of honor such as: the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 Device, Expert M16, (3) Overseas Bars and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm.

After retiring from the Army his eagerness to learn led him to further his education at the Tennessee College of Applied Technology where he earned his certifications as a computer and HVAC technician. He was employed as a Travel Claims Clerk at the Alvin C. York Veterans Medical Center, Murfreesboro, TN., where he worked until his health began to fail, wherefore, he retired December 18, 2020. In his leisure time Kenneth also enjoyed hosting family cookouts and he was a loyal active member of the EA Davis Elk Lodge #1138 in Murfreesboro, TN.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife of 23 years, Mrs. Senora D. Roberts; his oldest and devoted daughter Lesley Yvette “Pooh” Roberts of Cartersville, GA., Tysha M. Johnson Davis (Robin) of Decatur, GA., Shadolla Renee Peterson of Cleveland, TN., Tamiko (Larry) Verge of Murfreesboro, TN., Antonio Romero Roberts of Chattanooga, TN., Anthony L. “Tony” (LaToya) Fletcher of Sandy Springs, GA., Candice Virginia Roberts of Cartersville, GA.; (17 Grandchildren) Keyerra, Kormesha and Tenethia of Decatur, GA., Bajah, Nadia and Sincere of Cleveland, TN., Ricardo, Kaegan, Arissa, Quintin and Neveah of Cartersville, GA., Amirah, Amelia and Anthony III “Tre’” of Sandy Springs, GA., Jayden and Kaelyn of Murfreesboro, TN., Raina Love Johnson of Redfield, SD., (4 Great-grandchildren) Kennedy, Kylie, Koda and Karter of Decatur, GA. (Siblings) Ronald (Denise)Roberts of Raleigh, NC., Renee Chislom, Michael Roberts of Chattanooga, TN; (Aunt) Martha Jean Jenkins of Valencia, CA; (Cousins) Mose Duckett Jr. of Chattanooga, TN., his devoted cousin Willard (Ruby) Duckett of Chattanooga, TN., Timothy (Angelia) Duckett of Ackworth, GA., Allen (Tina) Duckett, Norman (LaFonda) Duckett of Chattanooga, TN, Marsha (Vernon) Wilson of Valencia, CA, Deborah (Larry) Bradshaw of CA, DeWayne (Vicky) Davis of CA and Tonya Davis of Las Vegas, NV; also devoted friends Tommy (Tracey) Gibson of Shelbyville, TN., and Robert (Linda) Coleman of Chattanooga, TN; (In-Laws) Clarence (Kathy) Davis of Columbus, OH., Mary (Miles) Cason, Robert Davis, Eugene (Denise) Davis, Bernice (Daniel) Akins, Tyrone (Lisa) Davis, Mattie (Larry) Davis and Barbra (Ray) Ligon of Murfreesboro, TN; last but not least, Kenneth also leaves to cherish his memory a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
