Larry Samuel Robertson, Jr. was welcomed into the world on October 23, 1969, by his parents Iris & Larry S. Robertson, Sr. He transitioned to his heavenly home on December 23, 2021, at Interfaith Medical Center, Brooklyn, New York.

JR as the family affectionately called him was the fourth of seven siblings. Educated in the New York City public school system, he furthered his education at Manhattan Community College and Empire State College earning an associate degree. As a young man, he served in the United States Navy Sea Cadets youth program. He accepted the Lord at an early age and was affiliated with New Covenant Church of Christ Disciples of Christ in Brooklyn New York. Following in his father’s and uncle/godfather’s (Rob) footsteps in the plumbing industry, JR worked as a MES Journeyman B Class plumber of the United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union #1 in New York City. Always thinking like an entrepreneur, he held several certifications to enhance his trade and experience including being registered as a Journeyman with NYC Department of Buildings.

Known for his Larryisms, JR had a name for every situation that not only made you laugh with joy but also made you think, gee he has a point. Oftentimes saying “you can’t make this stuff up;” “it is what it is” and “this is unbelievable.”  Larry, Jr. had a heart of gold and was quick to offer support and help to you in any way he could. Growing up in Glenmore Plaza, Brownsville Brooklyn, JR had many friends who became family along with his many cousins and siblings. It was truly a village experience that he never forgot.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his beloved Crystal (Creo) Jennings, daughter Keyeara Newsome Robertson, parents Iris & Larry Robertson; sisters Miriam Robertson, Sabrina (Leroy) Robertson-Addison, Theresa Robertson and Nikia (Merton) Bye. Brothers Mark (Dani) Robertson. and David Dexter Covington. Brother-Cousins (Brosins), Craig, Darryl, Doyle, Kelvin, Rodney, Steve, and Tyson. Nieces Adrianna, Janelle, Jasmine, Jordan, Nyeesha, and Typhani; Nephews, Johnathon, Justin, Leroy (LJ), Malyk, Mark (MJ), Terrence, and Tyriq. One great uncle Ray Ransom, Aunts Annie B Ransom, Jacklyn (Oscar) Cannon and Uncles Albert Ransom and Donnell Rodgers, Sr., great nieces/nephews. A host of family, friends and loved ones.

“JR, here’s to the last board meeting

You have left our lives, but you will never leave our hearts”
