 RICHARD M. PEOPLES, SR. was born in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, on May 2, 1944 to the late Eleanor Hrabar Peoples and Richard Lee Peoples. After several bouts of pneumonia, and a devastating decline in his overall health this year, he peacefully departed this life at his home on June 24, 2016, surrounded by his wife and several family members and close friends.

Rich was a Grade IV Water and Wastewater Treatment Chief Operator and worked for various Municipal governments in TN. for over 30 years. He founded VetsNiteOut, a 501c3 corporation for the benefit of Veterans and their families, organized and led the Annual Ride to Remember Alzheimer’s Benefits 1-8, was a long-time member of the HOG – Harley Owners Group, Smith-Wilson CMT-Abate, and Rolling Thunder TN 1, the VFW Post 8422 in Smyrna, TN, and an affiliate of countless other groups, as well as a good friend to everyone, and a devoted and cherished husband, parent, grandparent and family member to his entire family. Without a doubt, he was the “nicest person” most people ever met.

Richard is survived by his wife, Linda Martin-Peoples (of LaVergne, TN) and her family: his step-daughter Hillary Martin Stevens, son-in-law Curtis W. Stevens, and granddaughter, Summer Kate Stevens (of Smyrna, TN.)
He will be greatly missed by his children and their families: Son Richard M. Peoples, Jr. (of TN), grandson Connor Peoples and Heath Guyton, and their mother Shelby Guyton (of Smyrna, TN) ; Daughter Stephanie Wiley, and grandchildren Hannah and Mason Wiley (of Murfreesboro, TN);
Daughter Cyndi Jones, son-in-law Cory Jones and granddaughter Abigail Jones (of Cape Coral, FL);
and the children’s mother, Patricia McCutcheon, as well as her brothers: Jim, Peter and Paul Kulpa and their families in New Jersey.
Rich also leaves behind, and will be greatly missed by, countless friends, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, and his beloved ‘Biker Family’.
