Robert Wendell Biggers Sr. was born on September 8, 1941 to the late Willie Lee Sr. and Myrtis Biggers in Unionville, Tn. He left this earthly life on May 7, 2018 in Shelbyville, Tn. He will be greatly missed by all.
Robert was educated at the Bedford County Training School and received his GED from Motlow State Community College. Robert worked at Sears Company as a much-loved salesman for over 20 years. He went on to work at the Shelbyville Housing Authority as a maintenance supervisor until retirement.
Robert accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. He was a faithful member of Bird Street Church of Christ until his passing. He served in many capacities at the church.
Robert was a devoted member of Charity Lodge No. 82 in Central District 18. He was also a member of the Grand Lodge and served many years as the Grand Pursuivant Emeritus. In the past he held the title of Grand Master, Commander-in- Chief, Secretary to the Deputy of the Orient of Tennessee, and District 18 Treasurer. He was previously a member of the Eastern Star Rebecca 34.
In his free time Robert enjoyed fishing, yard work, hunting, repairing things, and spending time with family.
Robert was preceded in death by his sisters Katherine Biggers and Sammie Frazier, brothers-in-law Ira Taylor and John D. Harrison and sisters-in-law Rose Wiley and Vera Biggers.
“Pops” as he was affectionately known by his family, leaves to mourn his loving wife of 54 years, Chearldean Biggers; devoted son, Robert (Carolyn) Biggers Jr.; dedicated daughters, Carman Biggers and Carla (John) Kennerly; loving grandchildren, Ryan Biggers, Camille Biggers, Jared Bell, Erica Kennerly and JaVon Kennerly; a host of great grandchildren; siblings, Willie (Edith) Biggers Jr., Harold Biggers, Annie Ruth Harrison, Dorothy Jean (John) Brown, Joanne (Harold) Bryant, Larry (Naomi) Biggers, Doyle (Cynthia) Biggers and Gail (Skip) Johnson; sisters-in-law, Darlene J. Taylor and Vera Taylor; and a host of other relatives and friends.
