On Wednesday, November 10, 2021, Alice Ann Johnson Smith was quietly summoned from her earthly home.
Alice Ann Johnson Smith was born to the late Pearlie and Luther George (Helen) Johnson. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Alfred Lee, Willie Clay and Fay Lawson. She was a graduate of Bedford County Training School. She was united in Holy Matrimony to James Gardner Smith, Jr., for 53 years. She was a member of Mullins AME Church and held various positions including usher, missionary president, choir member and hospitality president.
Her hobbies were gardening, fishing, sewing and cooking. Her fried corn and turnip greens were always a favorite at family gatherings as well as church functions.
Alice loved her FAMILY and her family loved her.
She leaves to cherish her memory a devoted loving brother, Oscar George (Racheal) Johnson; four devoted sisters, Mildred Thompson of Shelbyville, Tn, Mary Overton of Murfreesboro, Tn, Edith (Bobby) Young and Marie McLean of Shelbyville, Tn; a devoted adopted son, Mr. Willie A. Hill, III of Murfreesboro, Tn; devoted daughter, Ann Shoffner of Shelbyville, Tn. Also, very special friend Gladys Flack of Shelbyville, Tn; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
