Allene Lima Smith-Jordan was born November 24, 1944 to the late Lillie Lee Smith-Lymon and John W. Frierson. She was preceded in death by her brother Frank “Sony” Lymon Jr. She and her brother Frank was raised by their loving grandmother the late Lucille Booker Venoy after the passing of their mother.
She was a proud graduate of Pearl High School class of 1963. She attended Tennesse State University.
Allene was a faithful member of Bordeaux Church of Christ under the leadership of Minister Raymond Coleman Sr.
Allene was a school bus driver for the Metropolitan Public School Systems. She owned several business including Kisha Beauty Shop and Beep Beep Transportation, until she was called to her passion of taking care of the elderly and started Booker Home Care which she ran for 23 years.
She was a seamstress and had a great passion for cooking. Thanksgiving and the Fourth of July was her special holidays. She loved cooking feasts for her family, friends and anyone that desired a meal. She touched many lives with her love of feeding others.
Allene leaves to cherish her memory a loving and devoted daughter, Lakisha Bradley; dedicated husband, Alfonzo Jordan. Step-daughters Shalanda Rucker, Tomeka Jordan. Sisters; Laura (Richard) Mitchell, Hazel (Bobby) Jordan, Georgia (Grayson) Wallace, Pearl Frierson, Beverly Cotton. Brothers; John (Janice) Frierson, Bobby (Karen) Frierson, James (Vivian) Frierson, Joseph (Sheryl) Frierson, Tabari Rahman. Cherished Uncle (like a brother) J. C. Venoy. Sister in Laws; Eleathe King, Joycie Moore and Regina Jordan. Brother in Laws; Larry (Mattie) Jordan; Melvin (Harriet) Jordan; Elliott Jordan and Perry Jordan. . Close longtime friends Vernice Stovall, Claudia Adams, Ella Mae Benford, Margret Blair and Myrtle Joy. Devoted relatives Elizabeth Joyce, Carolyn Broyles and Joyce Webster. A host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Special daugther God gave Allene to raise to the early age of 5, Melissa (Jimmy) Benford-Burns. She was a mother to many “play children”.
