Minister Annie Smith was born to the late Toiley Gabe and Nettie Lou Smith on October 23, 1935. She went home to be with the Lord, departing this life on February 24, 2016. She professed hope in Christ at an early age, becoming a member of Brandon View Baptist Church, now God’s House of Restoration. She later became a member of Barfield Baptist Church. Annie was educated in the Rutherford County School System.  Ms. Smith was a dedicated employee of Avco Industries/Triumph, proudly serving 30+ years before retiring. She was united in union to the late Charlie Lee Crockett.

Minister Annie Smith was preceded in death by her son, Freddie Smith and her sister, Mildred Williams-Bey.

Minister Annie Smith leaves to cherish her memories her loving children, Bonita Smith, Charlie (Norma) Crockett, Candace Pettus, Elmer Ray (Ora) Crockett,  Jerry Crockett of Kentucky, Teresa King, Darryl Crockett, Carolyn Crockett, Terrell Crockett, La’Tresia Crockett, and Tasha (Jeremy) Thomas; siblings, Elmer ( Bernice) Smith of Spring Lake, North Carolina, Wilma Batey, Darryl Smith, Barbara (Sonny) Butler, and Martha Knox; devoted grandchildren, Kherman (Angela) Howse and   Dr. Natalyn (Cleveland) Gibbs; devoted great grandchildren, Keanu Howse, Daniel Crockett, Michael Thomas, Jr., and Elise Ellis; twenty-five grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and  devoted friends, Mildred Banks, Irene Puckett, Ruby Brown, Estella Johnson, Emma & Jessie Vaughter, Lillie McCrary, and Jerry Gooch. Momma & Granny was lovingly cared for by Bonita Smith, Charlie & Norma Crockett and Tasha King.
