On Wednesday, December 12th, 2018 Cleo Merriweather moved ever so quietly and peacefully from a temporal life to a life of eternal peace and joy. Life began for Cleo on Friday, June 11th, 1926 in Montgomery County. She was born to the union of the late Rufus and Cora Majors and was blessed with eight siblings. Cleo was raised and educated in Montgomery County.
She was married to the late Frank Merriweather, Sr. Cleo was the loving and ever supportive step-mother of Frank Merriweather, Jr. She was a retired housekeeper, homemaker and an absolute superb cook. Her work was a reflection of her capable, caring and warmly kind spirit.
Cleo, until her health would not allow, was a faithful and most dedicated member of the Edgefield Missionary Baptist Church in Clarksville, TN. Cleo shall be remembered for her dedication of service to Jesus Christ and to her fellowman.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Flossie Corley, Mildred Sallee, Dorothy Davenport and Annie Nevels; and three brothers, James Perkins, Burney Perkins and Rufus Jewell Majors.
On Wednesday, she departed this life to go home to eternal life with our Lord. She leaves to celebrate her memory, her loving and devoted family: her great niece, Sherrell A. Bryant; great great great niece, Chase A. Young; nephew, James H. (Madalene) Skinner of Detroit, MI; sister, Mary Roach of Clarksville, TN; and a host of other relatives and friends.
