This is the story of Mary Elizabeth (Lewis) Stroble.  Mary, better known as Mae Mae, was a wonderful woman who loved the Lord.

Mary’s story starts on May 3, 1940 and ended on August 26, 2018 at St. Thomas Hospital, Murfreesboro, TN; the oldest child to the late Jesse Lewis and Rebecca (Ridley) Lewis.  Mary was born in Rutherford County where she attended public schools.  She later found the Lord at an early age where she did great works for the Lord.

Mary loved to cook and listen to gospel preaching and singing.  She loved the gospel greats, such as Dorothy Love Coates, Brooklyn Allstars and especially Sam Cooke and The Soul Stirrers, but this is nothing new to all that knew her.  Mary was known for her abilities to lead songs at her home church, Grace Missionary Baptist Church and she was also a member of Silver Springs M.B. Church.  She also used her harmonic contralto voice with the Smyrna Aires of Smyrna, TN.  Mary was united in holy matrimony to Robert Linwood Stroble.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Rebecca (Ridley) Lewis; daughter, Rosalind Stroble Russell; sister, Doll Sue Lewis; and brother, Steve R. Lewis.

Mary leaves to cherish her memory, three children, Jacqueline Tina Stroble, Rowland Lynn (Mechelle) Stroble and Corretta Andrea (Stroble) Bynum; son-in-law Joseph Michael Russell; twelve grandchildren, Theron Cannon, Tyrone Cannon, Valencia Johnson, Vatia Stroble, Vondrael Stroble, Vashawna Stroble, Quinton Stroble, Alexander Stroble, Victoria Stroble, Marcus Martin, Timothy Russell and Michael Joseph Russell; sister, Rachel L. Lewis; one nephew, Ashanti Law; devoted cousin, Diane (Clark) Patterson; and a host of great grandchildren, family and friends.
