Mildred Sue “Mickey” Banks was born on January 27, 1943 and transitioned from this earthly life on July 9, 2016.  She was the daughter to the late Cora Miles and the late James Spann. 

Mickey professed hope in Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Smyrna, TN under the leadership of Reverend O.C. McClain where she sang in the youth choir.  After returning home to Tennessee from Missouri, she joined Silver Springs Missionary Baptist Church. 

Mickey was educated in Rutherford County and Pontiac Michigan.  She received training/licenses in cosmetology and barber.  She also ventured into culinary and became a restaurant owner.  Before retiring, she was a certified nursing assistant.  

Mickey was preceded in death by her parents and daughter Angela Tate Smith, brother Bruce Calvin Clark, and sisters Irma Ceola Alexander and Gwendylin Marcie Turner. 

She leaves to cherish her loving memory devoted daughters Valentina Marshelle Tate of Selma, TX and Rhonda Katasha Tate of Austin, TX; granddaughters Angjhan Kashelle Smith of St. Robert, MO and Kazaria Eriana Gaines of Austin, TX; sisters Marion (Eddie) Appleton of Smyrna, TN, Sophia Clark of Murfreesboro, TN, and Polly Johnson of Murfreesboro, TN; brother Casey (Joyce) Clark of Murfreesboro, TN; uncle Charlie (Alena) Spann of Smyrna, TN; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, devoted cousin Zinobi Puryear, friends, and devoted friends Bobbie Jean Black, Annie Evans, Sandra Kenton, and Diane Lawrence.
