Sonja Marquenta Rhodes was born on January 19, 1955 to the late Ada Mae Leftwich in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.  She transitioned to eternal life on January 18, 2022 at Alive Hospice after a brief illness.

Prior to retiring, Sonja was employed at Walmart for 11 years.  She took immense joy in cooking, taking care of her family and loved consignment shopping,

Sonja was preceded in death by her mother Ada Mae Leftwich and daughter Deidre Lynn Bailey.

Sonja leaves to cherish her memory, loving and devoted daughters Jurita Rhodes and Ronique Bailey; grandchildren, Monte and Jourian; sister, Donna Leftwich; brother Fredrick Smith; nieces, Asia Leftwich, Anesia and Corasia Smith; and devoted friend and co-worker, Jackie Anderson.
